Pastor Scott Ness came to Prince of Peace in 2019. He lives intentionally as a disciple of Jesus; fails often; and works to not take himself too seriously. He is a strategic thinker who loves to take large and deep theological truths and make them practical and accessible for people. He met his wife, Deanna, at Wittenberg University and they have been living an adventure together ever since. With their 6 kids, adventure is never too far away. Parenting these kids with Deanna is his greatest joy, stress, challenge, and window into God’s love.
One of the things that Pastor Scott is passionate about is mission work: in your neighborhood, zip code, country, and around the world. It has led him to places like Ethiopia, Denmark, Honduras as well as across the street and downtown. He takes serious the call of Jesus: If the invitation is to Follow Jesus—that means that He leads and we don’t get to choose where we go. For Pastor Scott, this is true in the big and the small things of life.
After Wittenberg, he traveled to Columbia, SC with Deanna for his seminary education. And he furthered his studies through Portland Seminary for his Doctorate of ministry. Most of his life has been lived in Ohio. But the whole family is thrilled to be here in Georgia.
Pastor Scott loves to write—you can read some of his work on his blog: scottness.com and he has a book that will be published by Sola Publishing in the coming months. He also loves to travel with his family and enjoys new experiences with them.
